Position: Sisal Estate Manager

Job Purpose:
African Fibres Tanzania Limited seeks an experienced Sisal Estate Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of Sisal fibre production, from planting to dispatch. This role ensures that production aligns with quality standards, efficient use of resources, and strategic operational initiatives. You will supervise planting activities, machinery maintenance, fibre processing, and budgeting while fostering relationships with local communities and government officials. The successful candidate will regularly report on sisal production progress, focusing on achieving production targets and safeguarding farm integrity.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Facilitate planting activities including seed selection, nursery development, and disease identification.
2. Monitor fibre extraction through the decortications process.
3. Ensure high-quality fibre production through effective farm management techniques.
4. Supervise fibre drying and sorting to meet market quality standards.
5. Oversee fibre brushing, grading, and dispatching.
6. Align the agricultural budget with activities like weeding, ploughing, and fertilizing.
7. Develop and implement operational strategies to boost sisal fibre production.
8. Ensure optimal use and maintenance of machinery, spare parts, and equipment.
9. Identify operational problems and propose alternative solutions.
10. Ensure production targets and quality parameters are met across various stages.
11. Maintain strong relationships with local communities and government officials.
12. Prepare monthly reports on sisal development and farm progress.
13. Ensure timely field maintenance.
14. Prevent farm encroachment..
15. Perform other duties as assigned in line with sisal and other crop production.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science in Agriculture General or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of agricultural experience, with at least 2 years at the managerial level in sisal production.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
