JOB DETAILS:
Job Summary:
The Sourcing Supervisor (Agri Commodities) is responsible for coordinating the sourcing, collection, and transportation of agricultural commodities from farmers, suppliers, and traders. This role involves fieldwork, supervising loading and transportation, monitoring supplier quality, and ensuring timely
delivery of products to warehouses or processing facilities.

Key Responsibilities / Duties:
1. Field Sourcing & Supplier Coordination
• Visit farms, suppliers, and collection points to identify and assess commodity sources.
• Supervise the gathering, weighing, and loading of agricultural produce.
• Ensure suppliers and farmers meet the required quality and quantity standards.
• Maintain strong relationships with farmers, traders, and transporters.

2. Procurement & Logistics Support
• Ensure smooth loading, offloading, and transportation of sourced commodities.
• Work with the transport team to schedule timely pickups and deliveries.
• Oversee stock movement and record incoming and outgoing goods.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of commodities to prevent damage or spoilage.

3. Quality & Compliance Monitoring
• Inspect commodity quality, grading, and weight before acceptance.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and handling regulations.
• Report any issues related to poor-quality produce, weight discrepancies, or supplier non-compliance.

4. Team Supervision & Communication
• Supervise field teams involved in collection, weighing, and loading.
• Train workers on best practices in commodity handling and sourcing procedures.
• Maintain daily sourcing reports and update the procurement office on progress.
• Report any sourcing challenges, supplier issues, or transport delays to management.

Job Requirements
• Education: Minimum secondary school certificate (Form IV or equivalent); vocational training in agriculture, logistics, or procurement is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years in agricultural sourcing, logistics, or warehouse operations.

Skills & Competencies:
o Experience working directly with farmers, traders, and transporters.
o Strong organization and record-keeping skills.
o Physical ability to supervise field operations and handle stock movement.
o Basic knowledge of commodity grading and quality standards.

Work Conditions:
o Field-based role requiring frequent travel to farms, warehouses, and supplier locations.
o Requires manual handling, supervision of loading/unloading, and working outdoors.
o Work involves early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and peak
harvesting seasons.
