JOB DETAILS:
Geita Gold Mining Ltd (GGML) is Tanzania’s leading gold producer with a single operation in Geita Region. The company is a subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti, an international gold producer headquartered in Denver, USA. AGA has operations in more than ten countries across four continents. The mine is situated in the Lake Victoria Gold fields of Northwestern Tanzania, only about 120 km’s from Mwanza City and 20 km’s Southeast of the nearest point of Lake Victoria. The company has its main office and operations in Geita, only 5 Km’s west of the fast-growing town of Geita, and a supporting office in Dar es Salaam. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
To supervise and complete all the assigned tasks safely, using correct working method and safety precautions to the required quality standard, completing tasks on time, and effectively using the resources, given for each task.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• VETA Trade Test Certificate Grade One/Level Three in Mechanic.
• Full Technician (FTC) in Mechanical Engineering
• Diploma or Degree/Automotive in Mechanical Engineering will be an added advantage.
• Must have a valid Tanzania driving license.
EXPERIENCE:
• At least 2 years or more experience as a Mechanic in the maintenance of BELL Trucks especially B35L, Normet Machines, R2900, Loader, AD60, Different Model of Mining CAT (Caterpillars Machines), RH 40 & 170 Excavators and MT 4400AC.

MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Ensure that the work is conducted in a safe working practice and procedures.
• Conduct inspection on parked equipment’s to identify potential lube drainage/leaks to avoid risk of environmental contamination.
• Execute all mining equipment maintenance tasks assigned following approved work procedures.
• Ensure all tasks are performed safely according to GGM Safety Standards procedures.
• Advising your manager of any situations or condition that could create obstacles to or opportunities for the work of managerial team or company.
• Committing your best endeavours and full capability to work assigned to you by your manager.
• Disclosing timely information to Senior supervisor/manager when accountability cannot be met within limits or can be met with less time or resources than planned.
• Ensure that the work is performed to the OEM’S up standard and ensure quality of work to increase up time after the equipment is released to production.
• Be able to plan work before execution.
• Carry out work as required or directed.
• Meet work delivery deadlines to minimize the demand for resources without exceeding the required by date for work completion.
• Well maintained Engineering Standards, Specifications and SOPs.
• Improvement on the maintenance of moving machines.
• Demonstrate positive safe act attitude.
• Complete assigned task with required standard (No re-do job).
• Building and sustaining a team spirit with subordinates, capable of producing high quality output.
• Demonstrates keen interest in self-development.
