JOB DETAILS:
Summary:
The U.S. Mission in Dar es Salaam is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Supply Clerk in the General Services Section.

Duties
• Incumbent is part of the Dar es Salaam GSO Property Management Unit and reports directly to the Expendable Supplies Supervisor. The incumbent manages the GSO loanable property and the hospitality kit programs for Post. S/he maintains receipt, issuance, transfer, and disposal of all assets that fall under the GSO loanable property program.

Inventory Control and Records Keeping (30%):
• Incumbent operates and is in charge of the stockroom for loanable property (including events supplies) and the hospitality/welcome kit supplies program. Maintains accurate accounting in ILMS Loanable Property. Establishes reorder points based upon supply and lead time to receive an order. Performs periodic and annual inspection of the storeroom to ensure that supplies are adequate and not excessive for all items, ensures that items have not become obsolete, and that all-important items are kept in inventory. Responds to all procurement unit status reports for orders, inspecting inventory levels to prevent future shortage whenever possible. Assists with the Annual Inventory.

Issuance of Supplies (30%):
• Issues supplies and loanable property against ILMS and myServices requests. Coordinates delivery to the requester. Maintains accurate records for all issuances. Prepares reports, correspondence, and other documents relating to supply matters as required by regulations and/or as requested by the supervisor.

Inspection and Disposal (30%):
• Inspects the condition of returned loaned items. Focuses on accountability, making sure that all assets that are issued out are returned in the same condition that they were issued. Makes follow up on overdue, damaged and/or lost loanable items. Looks for ways to extend the life cycle of loanable property assets. Prepares disposal documents for loanable items and welcome kit items. Maintains cleanliness of storeroom and store room shelves. Ensures all loanable and welcome kit items are properly labelled, stored and neatly arranged on the shelves.

Assist with general warehousing duties (10%):
• Assist with general warehousing duties, mainly setting up event such as Independence day, award ceremony, town hall meetings, representational events at Chief of Mission and Deputy Chief of Mission etc.
Job holder will perform other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of storekeeping, warehousing, or supply chain management experience is required.

Education Requirements:
• Completion of secondary school O-Level is required.

Evaluations:
• Post may choose to add the phrase “This may be tested” after a language, skill, and/or ability. Review the VA template for specific information.

LANGUAGE: Level II (Limited) (reading, speaking and writing) in English is required. Level II (Limited) (reading, speaking and writing) in Kiswahili is required.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must have good interpersonal and customer service skills. Must be able to operate the types of material handling equipment used.

Must be able to use Computer skills (Microsoft Word Suite). Ability to learn ILMS/Ariba. Inventory management skills and numerical skills is required.
