Supply of Various Brand-New Equipment for Seaweed Farming tenders at The World-Wide Fund for Nature (WWF)

Introduction:
The World-Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) is an international non-governmental organization focused on environmental conservation and sustainability. WWF’s mission is to halt environmental degradation and promote harmony between humans and nature. The WWF Marine Programme is implementing the “Mangrove Management for Climate Risk Resilience and Improved Livelihoods” project, funded by NORAD (Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation). As part of this project, WWF is supporting livelihood and enterprise development in the RUMAKI Seascape, including seaweed farming and value addition initiatives.

WWF invites qualified suppliers to bid for the provision of materials necessary for the pre and post-harvest value chains, including fiber boats, tri-motor cycles, and heavy-duty maize/grain grinding machines for producing soft seaweed flour/powder.

List of Items:

LOT 1: Land-Based Transport Facilities

  • Item: Tri-motorcycles (8 units)
  • Description: For loading seaweed from the beach to the drying area, warehouse, and grinding factory for further processing. The motorcycles have a 200CC engine, 800kg weight, 2350mm wheelbase, electrical & kick start, shaft drive & reverse, and a 12V18Ah battery.

LOT 2: Sea-Based Transport Facilities

  • Item: Fibre Boats (3 units)
  • Description: Fibre boats with a 15 Hp outboard engine, 6m boat length, 1.8m boat width (with 2.1m haul beam), 1m boat depth, 9cm boat wall thickness, 0.3m boat draft, 250kg boat weight, and 700kg carrying capacity.

LOT 3: Grinding Machines for Soft Flour Production

  • Item: Corn/Maize-Seaweed Grinding Mill (2 units)
  • Description: High-quality machines for grinding seaweed and producing flour for other value-added purposes. The machines have a roller length of 400mm, a capacity of 400 kg/hr, and power of 11kW+3kW. The final flour fineness is 40-120 mesh with dimensions of 2500mm x 1300mm x 1700mm and a weight of less than 900kg.
