Job Description
Job Purpose:
• To ensure Customer Satisfaction in the service and repair of motor vehicles in a safe and economical manner, in line with company quality standards. Guide technicians and carry out on job training with work activities of workshop employees, including their observance of deadlines and productivity levels, as well as the maintenance of quality standards. Optimum utilization on manpower, bays, and equipment. To ensure completed vehicles are free from defects, and both quality and service standards have been adhered to. Communicate any additional faults or repair requirements to the customer after the final test drive to facilitate approval for further repair as needed.
• Train testers how to conduct a test drive to ensure that the vehicle repair and service has been completed in line with quality requirements.
• Train the testers the process of conducting a test drive, identify any additional faults or repair requirements needed.
• Advise the Foreman of additional jobs required as per observations, and for facilitation of customer approval, if necessary, re-perform a test drive following completion of the additional jobs
• Ensure Diagnostic Questionnaire are filled as and when required and assist the Workshop team to reproduce the defect reported.
• Check if the Jobs assigned are completed as per Job Instructions
• Check and confirm if all Parts Invoiced on a Job are fitted on the vehicle.
• Check and confirm the vehicle meets set Standards in terms of Quality and cleanliness.
• Check and confirm all Quality checks are carried out as per Quality control Sheet.
• Check and ensure all vehicles are tested by the testers on a timely manner.
• Check and escalate Test results from Tester are escalated to concerned Foreman Workshop Manager as and when defects are found during tests.
• Ensure Customers vehicles and property are handled in a safe and professional manner.
• Check and confirm if defects found in vehicles qualify for warranty and inform the warranty department for action and claims.
• Assist NSM with all available data for preparation of FTR and other technical reports.
• Manpower requirements and training for Quality department.
Responsibilities
• Hands-on supervision of all diagnostic and repairs related workshop activities
• Supervise and follow up on actual progress of each individual repair jobs.
• Ensure consistent high quality of work for all services and repairs Analyze comebacks.
• Ensure healthy and safe working environment standards are adhered to by all staff.
• Liaise between foremen, technicians, testers, wash bay and control room.
• Inspect Repair / service vehicles according to instructions in job cards and in terms of manufacturer’s Specifications.
• Strive to complete all checks and tests within the time allotted.
• Timely identify and advise the foreman of any additional repair items found.
• Sign out and in special tools and materials and ensure that they are used correctly.
• Handle all customers property found in the vehicle with due care.
• Use the necessary protective equipment to maintain the cleanliness of the customer’s vehicle (Including seat covers, floor mats, and fender covers)
• Perform a final inspection of all work completed carry out all quality checks and prepare the vehicle for delivery.
• Ensure up-to-date knowledge of products and services offered.
• Attends training conducted by the Training department and keeps.
• Abreast with new technology.
• Prepare RCA and RPM reports as and when required, with CRM team, Workshop Manager, Branch Manager, NSM, Head Branches and RCA committee.
• Ensure all repairs.
• Ensure all repairs including Body repairs are inspected and meet Quality standards.
• Ensure proper NVH tools are used whilst testing NVH related issues and documented in DQ’s.
• Ensure Kaizen activities are carried out for FIR related issues as well as for the Quality department.
• Ensure Attention to detail related to client’s vehicle before delivery including, Air conditioning, Clock, Steering positions, cleanliness etc.
• Report any cases where Parts charged are not fitted on the vehicle before delivery of the vehicle.
• Ensure all Testers including self are trained and up to date on NCF and latest technology.
• Ensure Service reminders stickers are in place before delivery of vehicle.
• Ensure all New Vehicles are checked before delivery for PDI completion, cleanliness, switches are functional. Oil levels etc.
• Ensure all data is provided to NSM and Warranty department for preparation of FTR and other technical reports.
• Ensure all courtesy items are removed from the vehicle before delivery of the vehicle.
• Ensure Clients vehicle keys are handed over and records maintained.
Academic & Professional Qualifications
Degree or Diploma in Automotive Engineering.
Trade Test Grade I or II Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent from recognized institutions,
Experience:
Minimum 6 years in a reputable garage/OEM dealer or company in general or auto mechanics

Experience in Months: 72
Level of Education: Associate Degree
