Geita Gold Mining Ltd (GGML) is Tanzania’s leading gold producer with a single operation in Geita Region. The company is a subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti, an international gold producer headquartered in Denver, USA. AGA has operations in more than ten countries across four continents. The mine is situated in the Lake Victoria Gold fields of Northwestern Tanzania, only about 120 km’s from Mwanza City and 20 km’s Southeast of the nearest point of Lake Victoria. The company has its main office and operations in Geita, only 5 Km’s west of the fast-growing town of Geita, and a supporting office in Dar es Salaam. Position: Tradesperson 2 – Mechanic

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
To successfully help delivery of the planned maintenance regime, fulfilling its statutory obligation, whilst also providing a break down reactive response harmonizing both customers and organization requirement.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• VETA Trade Test Certificate Grade One/Level Three in Mechanic Engineering.
• Diploma or Full Technical Certificate (FTC) in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
• Must have a valid Tanzania driving license and site driving permit.

EXPERIENCE:
• At Least 3 years working experience in the Underground Equipment’s Caterpillar Truck & loader, Sandvik Truck, Loader, Normet , and drill Rigs.

MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Performing Mechanical Diagnostic on equipment’s and other machines to identify faults.
• Repairing Mechanical and Electronic faults in jumbos, Solos, Cat Machines, truck, loader, and IT’s and normal Normet machines, replacing damage or faults parts where necessary.
• Performing checks and test to verify the success of repair work.
• Assembling and installing mechanical and electronic system in the equipment’s.
• Maintain and repair various kind of petrol and diesel engine motor vehicles.
• Maintain regular liaison with maintenance planner to order parts and equipment’s as necessary.
• Liaise with agents and manufactural on problems to achieve an efficient repair.
• Complete all documents and receipts, including inspection sheets and applies signatures as appropriate.
• Repair equipment’s and completion of the report to his/her supervisor.
• Execute all assign task in a timely manner.

• Must be physical and mentally fit.
