JOB DETAILS:
Water/Civil Construction Technician

Job Overview:
As a Civil Construction Technician in our company, you will play a crucial role in supporting the construction team by executing various tasks related to construction, inspection, and maintenance. Your responsibilities will involve hands-on work, utilizing technical skills to contribute to the successful completion of civil engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:
Construction Support:
1. Assist in the setup and preparation of construction sites, including the installation of safety barriers and signage.
2. Provide hands-on support for various construction activities, such as excavation, grading, and concrete work.

Material Testing:
1. Conduct basic tests on construction materials, including soil compaction tests, concrete slump tests, and asphalt density tests.
2. Record and report test results to relevant parties.

Quality Control:
1. Work closely with engineers and project managers to implement quality control measures.
2. Conduct inspections to ensure work meets project specifications and industry standards.

Documentation:
1. Maintain accurate records of construction activities, test results, and equipment usage.
2. Prepare reports and documentation as required by project managers and engineers.

Communication:
1. Communicate effectively with other team members, supervisors, and project managers.
2. Report any issues or challenges encountered during construction activities.

Qualifications:
1. Ordinary Diploma in water/Civil engineering;
2. Must be registered by ERB.
3. Previous 7 years of experience in water project construction or a related field is desirable.
4. Familiarity with construction equipment and tools.
5. Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively in a team.

Skills:
1. Technical proficiency in operating construction equipment.
2. Basic understanding of construction materials and testing procedures.
3. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
4. Good communication and teamwork skills.
