Job Summary.
Our Client, a Battery Manufacturing Company is looking for an ideal candidate who will be responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and supervising the day to day activities of the Workshop Section, controlling the quality of repairs, implementation of health, safety, environment and quality (HSEQ) standards, and conducting performance appraisal of subordinates to ensure effective services towards effective operations and business continuity.
Responsibilities;
• Supervision of stores and inventories of the workshop.
• Ensure forklifts are maintained in update and good operating conditions at all times to avoid unnecessary break downs.
• Track the workshop repairs and costs as part of monitoring and overseeing the repair and fleet processes.
• Supervise vehicle repairs to ensure appropriate and proper doing of the repairs.
• Daily and weekly collection and monitoring of vehicle checklist for verification and correction of any problems raised.
• Ensure departmental facilities, assets, tools and equipments are recorded, maintained, managed and compliant to the required standards.
• Organizing premises cleanliness including the Workshop, trucks and staff personality in general.
• Check and follow up on TMS weekly.
• Prepare and submit weekly fuel consumption report to your immediate supervisor or as it shall be required by the office.
• Checking generator’s fuel consumption and provide the report on weekly basis.
• Follow ups with vehicles permits, TANROADS, Traffic laws and instructions, tyres and batteries’ supervisor(s).
• Maintain job cards and ensure intervals are recorded for planned and unplanned services.
• Perform daily/weekly/monthly general checkups of Forklifts.
• Perform any other related duties as may be assigned to you by the Line.
• Manager/Immediate Supervisor from time to time.
Requirements
• National Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE).
• Certificate of Vocational Education from a registered Vocational Training Institute.
• A thorough understanding of and experience with machining and fitting techniques.
• Good interpersonal and organizational skills, able to motivate people.
• Proven record of ability to manage time and work to strict deadlines.
• Ability to make critical decisions under pressure, while maintaining the safety and wellbeing of the staff and the operational equipments.
