PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The purpose of the role is to ensure that investigation duties on the mine are conducted professionally, and according to the security and company standards. Also, to ensure police and court cases are followed up and give updates to the superior.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advanced Secondary Education and Above.
- Knowledge in Investigation duties
- Must possess a Tanzanian driving license and be able to drive a manual vehicle.
EXPERIENCE:
- 3 years’ experience in conducting security investigations in the mining industry and/or extractive sector.
- Experience in serious fraud and corruption investigation is an added advantage.
MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Adherence to Security Golden Rules and compliance with safety requirements.
- Comply with VPSHR
- Prepare a Docket/charge sheet / Complaint form.
- Investigation of any crime e.g., misconduct cases, theft, fraud, gold cases etc.
- Gathering of information, relevant documents, and evidence.
- Attend disciplinary hearings, Labour Cases, CMA and Court Cases.
- Liaise with Police and Government Officials in cases related to the mine.
- Attend after hour investigations and provide updates to the section in charge.
- Recording and reporting of security events to the Compliance and Assurance Superintendent in a timely and accurate manner to assist him in developing strategy to counter/mitigate risks.
- Comply and maintain existing compliance and assurance standards and risks.
- Develop an informer network inside and outside of GGM boundaries to assist GGM security to act proactively in preventing losses and to effect arrests.
- Report any information obtained from informants for him to develop strategies to counter/mitigate the risks.
- Coach and train informers as to their role, functions, and behavior as per prescribed informer handling guidelines.
- Develop and build a relationship with the Finance department to assist in financial investigations.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Conversant with all the commonly used investigation principles and techniques.
- Computer Literate - Intermediate to Advanced MS Word and Excel.
- Fluency in English and ability to write concise and analytical investigation reports.
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of awareness of AGA, CARO and GGM Security Management Frameworks to effectively apply lessons and learnings within GGM, CARO and AGA where necessary.
- Application of iSIMS, AuRisk and other AGA, CARO and other GGML business systems.
- Maintain competency and awareness of current investigation techniques and methodologies and use sound judgment to select the most appropriate framework (AIIP) to undertake a root cause analysis for example the James Reason, Swiss Cheese root cause analysis models.
- Ability to work without close supervision.
- Knowledge and ability to supervise subordinates.
- Ability and knowledge to resolve workplace related Conflict.
- Good report writing skills.
- Presentation skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
