Position Description
Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is seeking to recruit a Geotechnical Technician to join and grow our team.

Responsibilities:
• Ensure safe work practices, i.e., attending compulsory safety courses and meetings, use of required PPE, incident/accident reporting and ensuring total adherence to all Safety, Occupational Health, and Environmental Policies, as well as other relevant policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Conduct ground conditions and support installation audits to ensure compliance to ground support standards.
• Able to conduct stoping inspections.
• Design cable bolts & perform standard ground support designs.
• Assist in underground infrastructure inspections.
• Facilitate Ground Control training to Inductees.
• Record stock levels for ground support.
• Produce daily & weekly stope and development heading inspection reports.
• Conduct Geotechnical core logging.
• Prepare stope note assessments.
• Prepare stope closure notes.
• Conduct geotechnical mapping.
• Installation of monitoring instrumentation.
• Conduct QA/QC of all installed ground support in the underground workings.
• Conduct QA/QC of paste fill/shotcrete samples

Qualification requirements:
• Diploma in Mining Engineering, Civil, Geology or equivalent
• Must Have Valid Driving License

Skills / knowledge requirements:
• Proficiency in mine design software, Mine CAD, Deswik, Surpac
• Good Communication skills
• Ability to interpret mine layouts
• Able to maintain accurate records and reports
• Knowledge of underground mapping and core logging techniques

Experience and competencies needed:
• Minimum 2 years working on underground mining as Geotechnical Technician.
