JOB DETAILS:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Conducting veterinary disease surveys for livestock farmers in its area;
ii.Working with Animal Health Inspectors, inspecting meat and the cleanliness of slaughterhouses;
iii. Collecting data on meat and livestock products such as leather and writing reports;
iv. Treating and vaccinating livestock against diseases under the supervision of a veterinarian and advising livestock keepers on how to protect livestock against diseases;
v. Visiting livestock farmers regularly and providing them with professional advice in their area of work;
vi. Collect all statistics on livestock development and diseases in its area of work and provide information;
vii. Advise and supervise the construction of water tanks, slaughterhouses, holding pens and infrastructure related to quality animal husbandry;
viii. Supervise the mixing of the bath solution;
ix. Assisting in artificial insemination and breeding of livestock in general;
x. Advise livestock keepers on best practices for producing milk, meat, eggs and livestock care; and
xi. Perform other duties assigned by his/her superior related to his/her field of work.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Employment of Form IV or VI graduates with a Diploma (NTA Level 6) in one of the fields of Livestock Production; Dairy and Poultry Production; Livestock Health and Production; Meat Inspection from the Veterinary Training Agency Colleges or an equivalent qualification from another college recognized by the Government.
