  Act to End NTDs | East is a five-year project funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) aimed at providing assistance to national neglected tropical disease (NTD) control programs for the control and elimination of seven targeted NTDs: lymphatic filariasis, onchocerciasis, schistosomiasis, three soil-transmitted helminths (roundworm, hookworm, whipworm) and trachoma. IMA World Health manages the program in Tanzania in close collaboration with the program lead implementing partner, RTI International, and the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (MOHSW) and the Neglected Tropical Disease Secretariat. IMA World Health, a specialist in providing essential healthcare services and medical supplies around the world, is a nonprofit, faith-based organization working to restore health, hope and dignity to those most in need. IMA works primarily in the developing world, where an estimated 30 to 70 percent of health care is provided by faith-based organizations. IMA has over 50 years of experience in supporting, implementing and providing technical assistance to implementing partners in resource-constrained settings, and specifically has worked on the control, elimination and management of morbidity caused by NTDs for the past 20 years.
IMA World Health is seeking a qualified Health Systems Strengthening (HSS) Advisor to support the Act to End NTDs | East program that was awarded in 2018 will continue until 2023. IMA World Health is a sub-partner with RTI International on the program. The list of program countries includes Bangladesh, DR Congo, Ethiopia, Haiti, Indonesia, Laos, Mozambique, Nepal, Nigeria, Philippines, Tanzania, and Uganda.The HSS Advisor will be based in the IMA office in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and will report to the country Team Leader for the Act to End NTDs | East project in Tanzania with functional reporting to the HSS Lead in Washington, DC. The HSS Advisor position requires mainly in-country travel,with occasional international travel..
