JOB DETAILS:
You will:
• Be the point of contact for the country team in Tanzania, to provide advice and guidance in operationalizing, implementing and monitoring VVOB HR policies, procedures and practices.
• Improve and design HR processes and policies such as onboarding, workforce planning, the exit flow, etc.
• Be responsible for talent management in VVOB Tanzania, you develop processes and systems related to succession planning, career growth and professional and personal development trajectories.
• You keep abreast with policy trends, new developments and latest research and thinking in Human Resource Management and share professional and personal insights internally.
If you’re our HR Advisor, your workweek at the office will include the following highlights:
Your day begins with a meeting with the Operations Manager of Tanzania to plan the professional and personal development of individual colleagues and the team.
In the weekly operations meeting, you update the team on HR topics and present the new onboarding process, shaped by insights from HR colleagues across VVOB’s countries.
Lunch break! A great time to connect with colleagues.
In the afternoon, you present the draft HR Manual for VVOB Tanzania to the Country Management Team, ensuring alignment with local labor laws and refining it based on their feedback.
Finally, you meet with the management team of Tanzania to tackle key HR issues like expat visas, national staff contracts, and team structure.
The day wraps up with recruitment support, securing the right talent for VVOB’s growing presence.

Who are you?
Your expertise and experience
• You have a master’s degree in psychology, HR or related field; or equivalent experience.
• You have at least 4 years of experience as HR generalist at a strategic level, preferably in an international and cross-cultural context.
• You have a proven sense of professional discretion, integrity, and ability to manage situations diplomatically and to promote harmonious/cohesive teamwork.
• You have a strong proficiency in MS Office.
• You are Fluent in English.
• You’re willing to undertake short work trips to support our teams in VVOB’s partner countries.
