JOB DETAILS:
To lead Jackpot Guest House and Via Ali Pizzeria and Cafe enterprises. The holder of this position will be responsible for profitably growing these new enterprises. This includes ensuring standards of cleanliness and safety are upheld, budgets are controlled, problems are quickly solved and staff are well managed.

Main Responsibilities:
• Draft and execute business plan for both Jackpot and Via Ali Pizzeria with a vision towards profitable expansion. The development of this business plan will be a collaborative effort of the general manager and owner.
• Lead the staff team consisting of the assistant manager, cleaning, cooking and security staff.
• Lead the recruitment of high-performing staff.
• Manage the exit of poorly performing staff.
• Ensure the smooth running of the enterprises, including the safety and well-being of guests and customers.
• Develop and build positive relationships with guests and customers.
• Optimize online marketing channels: Jackpot and Via Ali websites, booking.com, Airbnb.
• Become familiar with and optimize use of Cloudbeds.com for maximum revenue realization.
• Ensure all staff are aware of performance expectations, policies, and procedures
• Comply with Zanzibar licensing laws and other legal requirements.
• Analyze and plan growth of guesthouse and restaurant sales and profit
• Organize marketing activities, such as promotional events and discount schemes

Qualifications and Experiences:
• Most important: A successful business leadership track record in the hospitality industry.
• Preference for candidates with formal training/education of the following relevant fields;
• business management; hospitality management; human resources management; hotel and
• catering management from a recognized institution. A bachelor or master degree is an added advantage.
• Entrepreneurial mind who thinks and acts like an owner.
• Business planning skills
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
• Excellent customer service skills
• Social media marketing capability
• Computer skills on Microsoft office applications, and internet.
• Cash management and basic bookkeeping knowhow.
• Ability to remain diplomatic, pleasant, and calm in emergency
• Flexibility and adaptability with good organizational skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• A sense of humor and plenty of energy and stamina
• Knowledge of relevant policies, regulations and procedures (e.g., employment contract, Zanzibar labour law, cleanliness practices etc.)
